Calories Not Included: Delightful Cupcake Card

Happy August, friends!! I hope you’re all staying cool. There’s a Heat Advisory out for our area, so it’s a perfect day for some serious cardmaking indoors! This cutie will make your mouth water - just anticipating all that fluffy frosting!! Yum!

I started with a white side-fold card made from 110# cardstock. I stenciled a 4.25 inch x 5.5 inch white cardstock base using the Hero Arts Streamer Stencil Square stencil (sadly, the Hero Arts stencil is discontinued. BUT! this one is very similar and available!) and Ranger Distress Inks in worn lipstick and mustard seed. I then added a white panel die cut with The Greetery’s Nordic Frames. I added some ink-blending (kitsch flamingo and squeezed lemonade - also Ranger Distress Inks) to the panel along with splatters. The cupcake focal point was made using the Hero Arts Color Layering Cupcake stamp and Color Layering Cupcake Framecuts die. The inks I used are saltwater taffy and worn lipstick for the frosting and tea dye and gathered twigs for the sliver of visible cupcake. The yellow cupcake paper uses mustard seed and fossilized amber. I added a sentiment that I made using my Cricut Maker- using two different fonts and then the offset feature to do an outline cut-out.

Lastly, I added embellishments: glitter glue along the darker ridges of the cupcake frosting and added glitter glue in the star-shapes of the background panel. The last touch was placing rhinestone dots on the panel around the cupcake. Now it’s time for you all to make a cupcake card!!!

Wishing you all a wonderful August- full of peace and joy!! Thank you for visiting!
